Safe Play

Responsible Gaming

Set your limits, get help if you need it. Betting should stay a bit of fun - here is how to keep it that way.

18+ Only - Bet Within Your Means

Betting carries financial risk and can become a habit. Only bet money you can afford to lose. If it stops being fun, stop. Free, confidential help is at BeGambleAware.org.

Our position

We would rather have fewer users who bet within their means than more who do not. Betting is paid entertainment. It is not income, it is not an investment, and it is not a way out of money trouble. We put that in front of you rather than hiding it.

Set your limits before you start

Decide these before you place a bet, not after a loss:

  • A deposit limit - a fixed amount per day, week, or month that you will not go past.
  • A time limit - how long you will spend, so betting does not eat your evening.
  • A loss limit - the point at which you stop for the session, win or lose.

Message us on WhatsApp to set a deposit limit on your account, take a break, or self-exclude.

Rules that keep it safe

  1. Never bet money you need for rent, food, bills, or family.
  2. Do not chase losses. A bigger bet does not fix a bad run.
  3. Do not bet to escape stress, boredom, or low mood.
  4. Do not borrow money to bet.
  5. Take regular breaks. Step away when you are tired or upset.
  6. Keep betting one part of your life, not the centre of it.

Warning signs

It may be time to stop or seek help if you:

  • Bet more than you planned or more than you can afford
  • Chase losses with bigger stakes
  • Hide your betting from family or friends
  • Borrow money or miss bills to keep betting
  • Feel anxious, guilty, or low about your betting
  • Try to stop and cannot

Take a break or self-exclude

If you need distance, we can set a cool-off period or a longer self-exclusion on your account. During that time you will not be able to place bets. Message us on WhatsApp and tell us how long you need. We do not talk you out of it.

Protecting minors

Hydbook is for adults 18 and over. Keep your login private and out of reach of anyone under 18. If you share a device, use parental controls to block gambling sites. If you believe a minor is using an account, tell us so we can close it.

Where to get help

You do not have to sort this alone. Free, confidential support is available:

  • BeGambleAware - advice, tools, and a free helpline at BeGambleAware.org.
  • Speak to someone you trust - a friend or family member can help you take the first step.
  • Contact us - message our team on WhatsApp to set limits or self-exclude.
